HITRUST Assessment Exchange Trademark and Brand Guidelines

You may use trademarks in text solely to refer to and/or link to HITRUST Assessment Exchange’s products and services and in accordance with these guidelines.

You may not, unless explicitly permitted in a valid legal agreement between your organization and HITRUST Assessment Exchange:

  • Use HITRUST Assessment Exchange logos, logotypes, icons, trade dress, or other elements of HITRUST Assessment Exchange websites or materials unless specifically permitted under these Guidelines;
  • Use HITRUST Assessment Exchange trademarks in the name of your business, product, service, app, domain name, social media account, or other offering unless permitted under a valid legal agreement with HITRUST Assessment Exchange or the Publications, Seminars, and Conference Guidelines included below;
  • Use the trademarks more prominently than your product or service name;
  • Use the trademarks on promotional merchandise that you are selling or distributing;
  • Do or say anything or use the trademarks in a way that implies affiliation with, sponsorship of, or endorsement or approval by HITRUST Assessment Exchange for your product or services;
  • Alter, animate, or distort the trademarks or combine them with any other symbols, words, images or designs, or incorporate them into a tagline or slogan; or
  • Use the trademarks in in any way that is contrary to these Guidelines and/or the Publications, Seminars, and Conference Guidelines included below.

HITRUST Assessment Exchange Trademark Guidelines for Publications, Seminars, and Conferences

These Guidelines for Publications, Seminars, and Conferences allow you to use HITRUST Assessment Exchange word-only Trademarks (the “Marks”) in the title of publications, seminars, and conferences solely in accordance with these Guidelines. As used in these Guidelines, seminars include webinars and or seminar-type sessions using any electronic means.

You may use the Marks in the title of publications, seminars, and conferences provided:

  • The Marks are directly related to a specific HITRUST Assessment Exchange product or service that is referenced in the publication, seminar, or conferences and HITRUST Assessment Exchange has approved any HITRUST Assessment Exchange-related content;
  • Your name and logo appear more prominently than the Marks on all printed materials relating to the publication, seminar, or conference; and
  • You prominently display a disclaimer of sponsorship, affiliation, or endorsement by HITRUST Assessment Exchange on the publication and/or related printed or displayed materials; an example of such a disclaimer is [Title] is an independent [publication/seminar/conference] and is neither affiliated with, nor authorized, sponsored, or approved by HITRUST Assessment Exchange.

You may not, unless explicitly permitted in a valid legal agreement between your organization and HITRUST Assessment Exchange:

  • Use the Marks as the leading word or most prominent element in your publication, seminar, or conference title;
  • Use the Marks more prominently than your product, service, or company name;
  • Use the Marks in a way that may cause confusion about ownership of the Marks or whether your product or service is a HITRUST Assessment Exchange product or service;
  • Use the Marks on promotional merchandise that you are selling or distributing;
  • Use the Marks in a way that would damage HITRUST Assessment Exchange’s reputation or goodwill in the Marks;
  • Alter, animate, or distort the Marks or combine them with any other symbols, words, images or designs, or incorporate them into a tagline or slogan; or
  • Use any HITRUST Assessment Exchange logos.

If you include a trademark footnote in your materials to give notice of ownership of your trademarks or third party trademarks, you must add the following wording to your trademark footnote: “All other trademarks are the property of their respective owners.”

HITRUST Assessment Exchange is the sole owner of the Marks and associated goodwill. HITRUST Assessment Exchange will be sole beneficiary of any goodwill associated with your use of the Marks. HITRUST Assessment Exchange reserves all rights not expressly granted herein.

HITRUST Assessment Exchange may revoke these Guidelines generally or as applied to your use at any time at its sole discretion.

Branding

The HITRUST Assessment XChange brand is composed, but not limited to a name, a logo, and a suite of products, solutions, and services, and their respective names and logos. We ask that all mentions and uses of the HITRUST Assessment XChange brand be pre-approved by the HITRUST Assessment XChange marketing team. Please send requests to marketing@hitrustalliance.net

The HITRUST Assessment Exchange and HITRUST Assessment XChange Names

HITRUST Assessment Exchange LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of HITRUST Services Corp. The name HITRUST Assessment Exchange should only be used when referencing the organization.

HITRUST Assessment XChange is an unregistered brand name that that should be written in full for the first mention on a web page, article, or printed page of collateral. Subsequent references of the HITRUST Assessment XChange can use the abbreviated format of “the XChange.”

The HITRUST Assessment Exchange Logo

The HITRUST Assessment XChange logo represents the face of our brand. We take great care in preserving the integrity of our identity and ask that you please follow our general logo usage guidelines:

  • The logo for the HITRUST Assessment XChange is a registered mark and must include the registered trademark symbol.

Use the logo version appropriate to content background and makeup. Do not place the logo over backgrounds, such as patterned, or any other type of background imagery that may hinder logo legibility. Use the full color logo version for white and light backgrounds, and use the all-white logo version on dark backgrounds.

  • Do not use a grayscale version of the logo. The logo is available in two versions: full color and all-white.
  • Other than scaling, do not alter the logo. Do not stretch, alter the shape, replace colors, outline or combine the logo with other elements.
  • Do not remove the registered mark on the logo.
  • Do not pair the logo with other marks.

Be mindful of ideal clearspace – the equivalent of the width of the “H”:

  • Do not layer content over or below the logo.
  • The use of the HITRUST Assessment XChange logo must be approved in all cases. Any alterations to the logo must also be approved. Please send requests for approval, along with examples of usage, to marketing@hitrustalliance.net

We offer the ability to download a logo package to help satisfy your media needs. Artwork for the logo is available in Adobe Illustrator EPS format, which is compatible with both PC and Mac. Additionally, JPG and PNG files are available for use in other applications such as Photoshop, InDesign, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint.
